Executive Director to Step Down after Eight Years of Service

Agency Names Dean McDaniel as Interim Executive Director

FAIRBANKS, AK, NOVEMBER 16, 2021 — After eight years, Love INC / Helping Alaska Executive Director Jason Kempthorne will step down in December. Kempthorne and his family will relocate to serve an ELCA church and community in Minnesota. Kempthorne will go on to lead an organization much like the Love INC serving the needs of the local community through a donation-based ministry partnering with local churches to provide for those in need.

Jason Kempthorne, Executive Director.

“It is an opportunity for growth for my wife’s career and at the same time, an opportunity for our family to move closer to our extended family. We will be relocating in early December to take on these new challenges, with hope and excitement for the future, but a heavy yet proud heart as well. I have greatly enjoyed my time in Alaska and serving as the Executive Director of Love INC and Helping Alaska.”

The Board of Directors has named Dean McDaniel, Program Director, to serve as Interim Executive Director to lead the agency through this transition. McDaniel will assume the position of Interim Executive Director on December 1. In support of the transition, Kempthorne will remain on staff as an occasional consultant for an undetermined amount of time, as the Board commissions a search committee to seek out the organization’s next Executive Director.
